Reunited with Graham Powell on Shackled
The gatekeeper: As the Shipping Manager, my character provides Greg (Graham Powell) with his first bridge back to the workforce—under the strict condition of absolute compliance.
In late 2025 I attended a private screening of the sci-fi thriller Shackled at the Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn. The film is a remarkably well-executed independent production, anchored by strong dramatic performances from the entire principal cast.
The project marks a professional reunion with lead actor Graham Powell. Our on-screen dynamic in Shackled—where I portray the lead’s sympathetic but stern boss offering a bridge back to society—mirrors a collaboration that began with the ambitious short film Clearer Than Truth (see right). In that project, I portrayed Mike Thomas, a Special Assistant to the Secretary of State for Research and Intelligence, tasked with the high-stakes transition of wartime OSS functions into the Atomic era. In both films, the dynamic remains consistent: moving from the staunch, unsentimental realist in CTT to the firm but pragmatic manager in Shackled.
Currently, the filmmakers are presenting Shackled to distribution partners. Having seen what could easily pass for the final cut, I am eager for this gritty, dystopian vision to reach its audience.
